A houseboat holiday in a wheelchair? With us it’s possible!

Our Minuetto 6+ Houseboat has been modified to increase accessibility and can ensure the comfortable movement of a wheelchair. The modifications are to the stern area in particular, with enlarged access door and cabin and bathroom doors, meaning wheelchair users can get around freely. Instead of steps, there are ramps inside the boat. Wheelchairs (with a maximum width of 55 centimeters) can get on and off freely, moving independently between the dining room, bedroom and bathroom. The upper floor can also be reached by means of a sturdy hydraulic lift capable of lifting up to 100 kg in weight. The platform rises from the ground floor to the first floor exactly like an elevator, providing access to the sundeck, the outside table area, and the main helm station. The only areas that are not accessible are the cabins and bathroom at the bow of the boat, which are too small.

To facilitate access to the shore, the Minuetto 6+ is also equipped with 60 cm-wide aluminum walkways, which an operator will install and remove once the wheelchair has passed.

Finally, on request and free of charge, we can provide a special wheelchair of a suitable size for getting around on the boat. In this way, the guest can use the wheelchair on board, when on board, and his/her own wheelchair for shore excursions.

PLEASE NOTE

Driving the boat requires a crew capable of carrying out the maneuvers, passing the mooring lines, lifting the gangways, and getting on and off in difficult conditions. One guest with a disability would not be able to drive the boat alone. However, with a mixed crew, the holiday becomes perfectly accessible, ensuring maximum fun.
